If you drive a car that has no A/C, you are about to experience an uncomfortable and sweaty ride. Having a properly working A/C in your car can keep you and other passengers cool and comfortable during the entire ride. Like most aspects of car maintenance, treating a problem with your car air conditioner early can help prevent major repairs. An air conditioning system operating on low refrigerant due to a leak will eventually damage the compressor. But an A/C system that is over charged is just as bad as undercharged. Overcharging causes excessive pressures resulting in unwanted and damaging heat. Replacing or repairing the compressor can be more expensive than sealing the leak and refilling the refrigerant. Some symptoms to beware of regarding a faulty air conditioning system include an inoperative fan or blower, an unusual amount of noise during regular operation, and, of course, reduced cooling capability. Stale smelling air is another sign that something is wrong with your vehicle’s air conditioner. A clogged compressor, evaporator, condenser, or expansion valve can contribute to air conditioner system failure. Routine maintenance now can help you avoid major AC repairs down the road.
Our expert auto air conditioning technicians will perform a complete inspection and diagnostic testing of your air conditioning system to find the problem and determine a repair plan. You can trust us to get your car or truck A/C repaired the right way, timely and at a fair price. We can also help you maintain your A/C system to prevent problems in the future.

New Vehicle? We can work on that too!
The refrigerant (R-134a) that has been used in vehicles since the early 1990’s is being phased out, with EPA regulations that it can no longer be used in vehicles built after 2020. The new refrigerant, R1234yf, which can be found in vehicles as far back at 2015, requires different tools and equipment to service and maintain your air conditioning system. At Dundas Automotive Repair , we have the latest equipment and training available allowing us to service your later model vehicles equipped with this new refrigerant.
